Message ...the original silver finish on them. I think they only come in silver and Blitz silver. But I just didn't like the type of paint that was used on them. Maybe I would've settled if the silver had a much finer flake or thinner coat and finish or didn't look too laquered.

Anyways, I liked the look and longevity of the chrome finish better, and just wanted to be one off from other Type-03's out there. It all comes down to personal preference I guess.

It's been a while since I got them, but I do remember weighing them on a bathroom scale because I knew others would ask and I wanted to know too. I think the front weighed in at 26lbs and the rear at 26.5lbs? That was stock without the chrome. Then after chroming, the front still showed 26lbs and the rears showed 27lbs to my surprise. Keep in mind that this was on a bathroom scale with 0.5lb resolution.

As far as the price, I believe I paid something around $630f, $670r, before taxes?

Your right about wheel weight if you have lots of torque. As you can see, the chrome looks like it put on less than a pound. Also, since the lip comes already polished, I only chromed the centers and not the outer barrel, (which would have a greater effect on rotational inertia, I forgot the equation, something like I*r^2, been a while since my mechanical engineering classes, maybe someone else remember off the top of their head, but distance from the rotational axis is a major factor in rotational inertia). Added weight here will add to your unsprung weight from a suspension point of view, but once again that amount was negligible for my application.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask and I'd be more than happy to help as much as I can.

Here are some of my before and after pics below.

Take care,
=Ricky=

This first one is just of the center caps. I painted them black but took time to carefully mask the outer rim, and protect the logo and lettering with the original "chrome" finish to match the soon to be chrome centers.
